Looking for a rescue Mastiff?
CMC Rescue is run by volunteers, out of our homes. We do not have a shelter or kennel facility. We work our rescue activities around busy schedules, so please be patient and realistic about timelines for returning calls or emails.
When looking for a rescue it is important to remember, there is no way to guarantee the rescue is purebred Mastiff without registration papers.
There are a few things you may want to consider before adopting a Rescue Mastiff:
- Resues often need training and will need time to adjust
- Some rescues come with baggage and may have behavioural issues
- Many rescues will be products of unethically bred dogs. Characteristics may diviate from what is known in the breed.
- Often rescue mastiffs you will find listed online are likely a mastiff type not a Mastiff. It is best to educate yourself on the breed and the differeneces between mastiff types and the Mastiff.
- they DROOL!!!!!!!!
- they can be strong-willed/stubborn
- they are extremely strong -they can be clumsy and could accidentally knock over a small child
- they shed, and because of their size there is a lot of hair
- they eat a considerable amount of food
- the cost of vet bills are more due to their size

SAGE – ADOPTED!! We received a call from Sage's owners at the time that they could no longer afford the care for her and wished to re-home her. After going to meet Sage, we soon found out that she had been through 3 homes in 5 yrs, previously abused, had 3 litters, very under weight and did not receive the proper vet care she desperately needed. After her first vet visit, we soon discovered that Sage had a flea infestation, skin infection, ear infections, worms and would need to be spayed. |

TYSON – ADOPTED!! This boy ended up in a shelter through no fault of his own. His original owner was overwhelmed with being a single mom with 3 kids and no time for Tyson. |
